Operation equations, equivalent diagrams

In this section, starting from the manufacturing and operation principle of the asynchronous machine, the general operation equations are determined and, on this basis, the equivalent "T" and "p" diagrams. Then, a virtual laboratory is proposed, where both the parameters of the equivalent diagram and the mechanical parameters (moment of inertia, friction coefficient) are determined. This parameters are necessary when studying the electric drive systems.

This course presents the operation equations of the asynchronous machine in steady state regime, in the complex form and with the rotor quantities reported to the stator. The equivalent diagram and the phasor diagram are detailed.

A virtual laboratory is then proposed:

Measurement of the equivalent diagram parameters

In this laboratory will be presented simple techniques to measure the different parameters of the equivalent diagram (stator and rotor resistance, inductivities), but also the mechanical ones (moment of inertia, friction coefficients), necessary when the control is settled.
