Principles

This section deals with the opperation principles of the electrical machine with rotating field (synchronous and asynchronous machines).

Rotating field

This presentation shows how it is possible, having windings which provide a sinusoidal repartition of the field within the air-gap, to obtain a rotating field.

Realization of a sinusoidal winding

This exercise explains the mode through which, by using the technique of repartition of the windings in the slots, it is possible to realize a winding that provides a sinusoidal repartition of the field within the air-gap. It will be demonstrated that it is easier to achieve this by using a triphase winding rather than a biphase one, which justifies, among other things, the great popularity in electrotechnics of the triphase systems.
