Direct Torque Control

 

In this section, first of all, the principle of the Direct Torque Control of the induction motor is presented.

The lecture demonstrates how can be directly controlled the torque developed by an induction motor supplied by a voltage source inverter, by controlling the spatial position of the stator flux phasor. This one is controlled, both as position and amplitude, by proper choosing the inverter topology (the ON/OFF states of the switches).

Then, a virtual laboratory is proposed. Here we can find the necessary controllers types (bi-positional or tri-positional) and the influence of the control system performances (computing time) on the system behaviour.
