Direct converters

In this course, we define what is a direct converter: it is a converter in which the semiconductor switches act, according to their state (ON or OFF), directly on the connections between the generator and the receiver that is being supplied

By using three examples it is then shown how, by acting on the connections between the generator and the receiver we can:

    • transform an AC voltage into a DC voltage
    • transform a DC voltage into an AC voltage

  • prior knowledge: none
  • level: first and second cycles
  • estimated time: 15 minutes
