The study programme

The study programme Electromechanical Engineering trains engineers that are able to solve problems that are specific to technological development through the design, implementation and exploitation and electromechanical systems and equipment.

This specialization has evolved continuously from the perspective of educational syllabi, primarily due to post-revolution contacts with European Universities and due to the integration into the European academic environment. The electromechanical engineer continues to play a pivotal role owing to the continuous evolution of design and production technologies and due to the increasing complexity of equipment and installations used in all areas of activity (industry, services and household). Hence, the request for specialists with multi-disciplinary competences and abilities to be integrated in a globalized highly-qualified labour market.

Graduate training

Graduate training is focused on developing competences and abilities that are permanently adapted to the requirements of the labour market, such as:

  • Accomplishing activities of harnessing, maintenance, servicing and integration of electromechanical systems;
  • Applying knowledge concerning power conversion, electro-magnetic and mechanical phenomena that are specific to static and electromechanical converters, electrical equipment and electromechanical actuation;
  • Automation of electromechanical processes;
  • Using measuring techniques for electrical and non-electrical measurements and data acquisition systems in electromechanical systems;
  • Identifying objectives to be achieved, available resources, accomplishment condition, work stages and timetables, accomplishment deadlines and associated risks;
  • Identifying roles and responsibilities in a multi-disciplinary team and applying efficient teamwork skills;
  • Efficient use of information, communication and assisted professional training resources ( web portals, specialized software applications, etc)
